It was a long and crazy week in the Thummel household. Jarrett and I are both working longer hours these days. There just aren't enough new projects out there to find! I think we are both looking forward to a restful weekend.
The big commotion on Monday was a call from my OB/GYN office. They had to do some "economic downsizing" and since my midwife was the new kid on the block, they let her go! But I found her home phone number and we have since talked. She is talking to another practice close by, and in the event that she gets another job in the next month, we will consider the implications of changing practices (I'm sure insurance will love this, considering I've paid $20 to date).
But on Monday I go for my regular monthly appointment and will see another midwife in the meantime. I was very shaken up about this change at the beginning of the week, but the more I thought about it, I realized that there aren't any guarantees for which medical expert will be on hand to assist during the delivery. Hopefully I will get to know a few different people over the next 12 weeks, and one of them will be there to catch her when she comes out!
